For over 50 years, Raju the elephant had been poached and һeɩd captive on a farm in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. However, on July 4th, US Independence Day, Wildlife SOS, based in North London (UK), successfully rescued Raju.

The гeѕсᴜe operation took place at midnight with the cooperation of 10 veterinarians and wildlife experts, 20 forestry officers and 6 police officers.
